One of the most beneficial and useful things a person can do is study a language or higher education program abroad.

This journey has been hampered since the COVID-19 epidemic began in early 2020 as a result of the numerous rules and travel restrictions that have been put in place by various nations.

In the instance of Canada, it was long since impossible for a foreign student to enter the country and enroll in a higher education school or learn English or French.

Currently, and because Canada has a very sophisticated immunization procedure. The government made the decision to restore its boundaries and accept foreign pupils.

A Canadian Study Permit: What Is It?

The IRCC issues the Canadian study pass, which enables international students to enroll in courses at Canadian designated learning institutions (DLIs).

To study in Canada, the majority of international pupils would need a study visa. Please make sure you have all the necessary paperwork before applying for the permission.

A study pass is not a visa because it does not allow you entry into Canada. Additionally, you might need a visitor’s passport or an electronic travel permission (eTA). You will be given one in addition to your study pass if it is accepted.

Who May Request a Study Permit?

In Canada, you can file for a study pass if you:

  • are registered at a designated learning institution (DLI) with a COVID-19 preparation plan that has been authorized,
  • Show that you have the money to pay for your tuition, lodging costs for you and any family members who traveled to Canada with you (if any), and return airfare for you and any such family members. (If applicable)
  • Have a clean crime record, observe the laws of your nation, and obtain a police clearance certificate. (if required)
  • Be in good health, obtain a medical test from a recognized medical facility (if necessary), and provide evidence to the immigration official managing your case that you will return to your home country after your study visa ends.

Eligible documents for study permit application

When applying, you must include:

  • a certificate of approval from the DLI you’ll be attending, which must be on the roster of DLIs with a COVID-19 preparation plan that has been authorized, along with identification and financial support documentation.

Also, you might have to provide the following documents.

  • a note of clarification a Quebec certificate of acceptance (CAQ), a custodian statement (required only for children), or as many of the supporting papers as are necessary for a full application

Whether you are outside of Canada or are already in Canada, you should register online for a study permit if you are a foreign student who wants to study in Canada.

You could submit a physical application if you are unable to do so online due to a handicap or because there is a technical issue with the online application.
